Confidence is a self developing skill, for others to believe
in us! "Be confident"- common tell from everyone, blooms on
and off to an individual. Well, better said then done. Still the fact is,
confidence beautifies persons aura. And it is the skill which we can develop over the years by practicing. The fundamental building block
is believing in our self, irrespective of others. On the other side, it is
important to understand that it's OK, if confidence shall not go with us always. There are times where
we are by default confident and other time we prepare to build our
confidence. Accepting this itself gives us confidence in developing confidence.
Here's a quick simple doable go-through for developing confidence with pragmatic approach:
C-A-T-C-H the way of practicing confidence.
1) Comfortable
Unless we are comfortable with self, our body language shall not reflect it.The most comfortable person with you is yourself. Let go the thought of what others think or would say for you. Stop worrying about others. Remember you are not paid to think for what others say or think? So why over think unnecessary? Just be comfortable with self. Practice liking yourself. As you start being comfortable with yourself, you start remaining alert to the surroundings and current situations.
2) Alert
Being alert in the moment allows us being proactive in current situation with cautious and planning mindset. Just to catch a situation, as an example: If you are in your presentation room, just gauge the in and around room to understand placement of projector, screen, team mates seating, wires, etc. This comforts your presence as well as make you aware of your movements while presentation. Being alert shall allow you to believe and trust yourself completely.
3) Trust
Unless we trust our self, we cannot expect others to believe in us. Others check for our self-trust
to believe in us. The moment we trust our self, our mind starts working in
more creative way, in any of the task.
4) Creative
Nothing builds confidence than doing it. Be a doer. Be executor.
Yes, keep performing, keep doing and we are gradually building our confidence step by step. Accept your fears and anxiety. As denying them shall delay the resolution search to overcome these emotions and thus not giving a chance to alternate our action in apt direction.
Always remember to add a creative touch to any task, which shall help to design any task better and the outcome of the architecture looks personalize. Be proactive to practice and prepare yourself for any meeting, presentation, occasions to present yourself in a better way. Let you face possible queries in your mind during rehearsals, being ready to oblige in reality. Remember, all questions are not for answering immediately, some are for re-questioning, some needs further research and follow up, some shall be answered immediately. Think ways to add your personalize touch in every task you do. Let the creation flow in your mind for your performance and this shall make you feel happy.
5) Happy
Happiness automatically shall make anyone look pleasing and raises self-confidence to accomplish most of task. It is reflection of being comfortable and strong self trust.When we are happy, we are more alert to the current situation.
It is cycle of being comfortable to be alert in current environment, leading us to trust our self, shaping us to be more creative in our task, making us happy and thus, accomplishing our practice of Confidence!
